Class of 1998 – Jared W. Reed

Jared W. Reed, a 1998 Fremont High School graduate, graduated in December from Western Illinois University, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Geography (with an emphasis on planning). Reed earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University in 2005, with majors in Geography and Political Science and a minor in Psychology. As the Development Services Coordinator for the City of West Burlington, Iowa, he is responsible for building, zoning, and municipal code inspection and enforcement.

William Gregory Derks graduated with honors from Western Michigan University on Dec. 19, with a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and English. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1997, and is the son of Joann and Stan Thornton and William J. Derks of Fremont.

Class of 1999 – Kyle Purdy

Kyle Purdy, a 1999 Fremont High School graduate, completed his MBA degree in December
2008 at Grand Valley State University. Purdy is a senior accountant with the accounting
firm of Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols and Carter of Grand Rapids. A licensed CPA, he earned
his BA degree from GVSU in 2003. He and his wife Nicole and daughter Megan live on the
east side of Grand Rapids. He is the son of Darl and Joan Purdy of Fremont.

Class of 1993 – Patrick Richardson

Patrick Richardson, a 1993 graduate of Fremont High School, recently graduated magna
cum laude from Grand Valley State University, receiving a Master of Science degree
in Biostatistics. He is employed as a biostatistician at the Van Andel Institute
in the Program of Translational Medicine. Patrick lives in Grand Rapids with his
wife, Kelly and four-year-old son, Alex.
