1977 Girls Basketball Team

On behalf of the Fremont Girls Basketball Program, we would like to invite Fremont alumni, community members, friends and family to a special recognition ceremony to honor the coaches, players and support staff from the 1977 Girls Basketball Team on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 6:30 pm center court at the Fremont High School. A reception for honorees, friends and family will follow immediately in the Multipurpose Room.

Fremont is known for their strong girls basketball program and we will acknowledge that long standing tradition by celebrating the success of the 1977 team. The 1977 team is the only team in Fremont girls basketball history to win 23 games in a row before losing in the Class B Quarterfinal Basketball Tournament.

The girls varsity basketball game against Tri-County starts at 5:30 pm. We sincerely hope you can join us for the game and celebration that follows.

Rich Wheater, editor of the Timeslndicator, has not only been involved with the duties
that come with running a small-town newspaper, but has been involved in PRIDE of
Newaygo County for 15 years.

Wheater graduated from Fremont High School in 1977.

In an Oct. 2 interview with the Grant High School journalism class, he said that he had

Class of ‘73 holds 35th year reunion

Fremont High School’s Class of 1973 held its 35th class reunion on Aug. 23. Events included a tour of the high school, a cruise on the Port City Princess out of Muskegon, a gathering at Captain Jack’s on the beach at Pere Marquette Park, and canoeing the next day.

Class of 1997 Reunion

Hi Everyone,
We are disappointed to announce we’ve had a very poor response to the reunion, therefore we’re calling it off. I will be returning the RSVP’s and checks I’ve received this week. Tami and I would like to thank everyone who responded, we appreciate it very much.

For those of you still interested, Ramshorn is open for dinner that evening, Saturday, November 24th. If those interested plan on attending around 6 pm, some people may be able to meet and catch up. Also, those interested can plan on attending KC’s Pub around 8 pm for drinks.
